Description

Cherries are full of polyphenols which are antioxidant powerhouses. We generate free radicals in our bodies just by carrying out basic metabolic functions. And our environment is teaming with them in the form of pollution, cigarette smoke, certain foods and chemicals. Antioxidants are the foot soldiers in the battle to disarm these free radicals. They neutralize them by giving up an electron which minimizes their threat to our good health. This is why we encourage everyone to eat foods loaded with antioxidants.

Tierra Farms’ Organic Dried Tart Cherries are just that: dried and tart. They’re not as moist as the Dried Bing Cherries but they have a great tart flavor that make them perfect to add to spinach salads or hot cereal. Tierra Farms adds a little organic sunflower oil to keep them the dried tart cherries from sticking together so it’s easy to add these yummy little mouth puckers to anything you want.

In one 40 gram serving you get 1 gram of fiber, 3 grams of protein and 25 percent of your daily value of vitamin C and 15 percent of your daily value of iron for 135 calories.

Most fruit is sprayed with chemicals to prevent pests and mold. When this fruit is dried, the chemicals are concentrated. This is why we like Tierra Farm’s organic dried fruit. They don’t use pesticides and chemicals so you can be assured your dried fruit is full of terrific nutrients and great flavor, and nothing you don’t want.

Here is a SuperFood that you can take to the bank! We're shocked to think that nutritionists and researchers ignored the tiny berry for years because it is relatively low in vitamin C. Thankfully, it was finally discovered that they have incredibly high levels of antioxidant phytonutrients.
