We are big fans of Seven Sundays. They make wonderful mueslis that contain many SuperFoods and no additives or preservatives. What makes this muesli unique is the addition of unsweetened cocoa powder, which is, yes, a SuperFood due to all the polyphenols in it.
In this muesli you’ll find gluten-free oats, dates, sorghum, coconut, organic honey, almonds, pumpkin seeds, unsweetened cocoa powder and a little vanilla extract. The coconut gives a chewy texture and rich taste, and the almonds and pumpkin seeds give it a bit of crunch as well as terrific nutrition. If you add milk to this muesli the unsweetened cocoa powder turns it a bit chocolatey which is a nice treat at the end of your bowl.
Even though there is no added refined sugar it has a lightly sweet taste from the dried dates, coconut and the bit of honey.
The main ingredient, gluten-free oats, are a truly impressive SuperFood. They’re low in calories, high in fiber and protein and they’re a rich source of magnesium, potassium, zinc, copper, manganese, selenium, thiamine, vitamin E and phytonutrients. They’re fantastic for your heart and cholesterol and blood sugar levels.
There are 5 grams of fiber and 6 grams of protein in a ½ cup serving. Add milk and let sit for 5-10 minutes or top your yogurt with it. We really like it as an afternoon snack and dessert too!
